Whenever you look to move to a new neighborhood, you wonder what makes it a desirable place to live. There are lots of reasons I love living in Highland Creek. Here are five:
HIGHLAND CREEK AMENITIES
There are so many I can’t even list them all but a few of my favs are…. Pools, four of them to choose from and they all have a different feel. Parks, kids will have trouble deciding between the cool slides and swings. We can walk to two parks from our house and they soak up our kids’ energy almost every week. Summer camps, Yes, Highland Creek has tons of awesome summer camps for kiddos. Move over YMCA!
COMMUNITY
Highland Creek has a warm and inviting feel. There are so many community events, including parades, movie nights, scavenger hunts, fun runs – and the list keeps going. Of course, I couldn’t write about community without mentioning my amazing neighbors. From day one, they welcomed us with open arms, and we’ve looked out for each other since.
SHOPPING
The number of fabulous stores that are minutes from my house is unbelievable. I could never list them all, but just know that the variety is jaw-dropping and you will LOVE it. A few I enjoy often include Total Wine, Ulta, AC Moore, Kohls, Pier One Imports, Wild Birds Unlimited, Lowes, Home Goods, Academy Sports and Outdoors and, of course, Concord Mills.
GROCERY STORES
There are grocery stores galore… and in all directions. If there’s a grocery store that’s your favorite, chances are that there’s one nearby. If you leave the Dominion Entrance of the neighborhood onto Christenbury Road, you’ll find Earth Fare, Lidl, WalMart and BJ’s. Leaving the North Entrance onto Eastfield Road takes you to Food Lion. Leaving the South Entrance onto Ridge Road takes you to Harris Teeter, Aldi and Publix. And Trader Joe’s is just a hop and a skip down Mallard Creek Road. Seriously, we’ve got your groceries covered.
GOLF COURSE
My family and I live on the golf course so we get to enjoy the beautiful view from our screened-in porch. It’s my little sanctuary out there. It’s where I think clearly, breath deeply and solve the world’s problems… or at least a few of my own. And, my daughter is starting golf lessons this fall at the Highland Creek Golf Club through The First Tee of Greater Charlotte, and we’re super excited. (We’ll also be sure to teach her how to yell, “Fore!”)
